I had a surprisingly good session this evening. After a pretty miserable, rainy windless afternoon, at around 5pm the sun suddenyl came out and the wind picked up so i went out windsurfing. I rigged my biggest board, biggest sail and biggest fin as it looked a little marginal. The first run out and back was fine, just powered up but not exactly exciting. the second run out was terrible with not enough wind to get planing, and it was the same on the way back in so I lost quite a bit of ground downwind and had to do a walk of shame back upwind.

I was about to pack up and give it 1-star, but decided to give it one more chance. This time i got onto the plane easily and worked my way out through the surf just powered up. I made a nice gybe on the face of a biggish piece of swell out the back and blasted back towards the shore, By now I ws nicely powered up and making ground upwind easily. The wind continued to pick up throguhout the session and I had a good hour of perfect balsting conditions. I made a few jumps, but nothing spectacular in that department as my foot was still hurting and jumping really hurt. The gybes on the outside were good, carving hard on the face of the swell. As the session continued the swell picked up a little so I stayed out the back, blasting up and down in the sunshine.

I had to come in in the end as it was dinner time and Anna would be sat at home waiting patiently for me... I had earnt some brownie points earlier in the day though!

All in all a pleasant, and unexpected session.
